Transparency first of all.
Our secret is to keep no secrets. For those who don’t already know, we have organized an initiative called Open doors” that invites customers to visit our company and get a better idea of our Mec3 products.
We want our clients to come and view all the different stages in our production process. We want them to inspect the quality of our raw materials with their own eyes, to examine our premises in detail and to see exactly how the machines that prepare and package the semi-finished products work.
We will be happy to answer any question, with no mysteries. Because we work in absolute transparency and believe that this is the only solid base on which to build a trusting relationship. If someone thinks that we are incurable optimists, they’d be right!
Quality

We have created a three-pronged approach in order to guarantee constantly innovative and advanced products which contain all our good intentions.
The Research and Development Laboratory.
This is the area where our new flavours are created and it’s a gelato lovers’ dream. But that’s not all.
The people that work here monitor global food trends daily and pay particular attention to the combination of products, in order to then transfer them to our sector. Furthermore, they use a scientific method to analyse our client’s gelato to provide suggestions on how to improve the recipes.
By investing 5% of our annual revenue we can constantly offer successful products.

The Sensorial Analysis Laboratory.
In order to improve what we produce every day, we rely on an extremely precise discipline. The sensorial analysis allows us to transform a qualitative and subjective judgement (good, bad) into a quantitative and objective measurement. In order to do this we call on a panel of “judges”, made up of people from inside and outside the company, who must express an opinion on new flavours or modified products, by taking into account each one of the 5 senses.
The Quality Control Laboratory.
At MEC3, quality means identifying the expectations of our clients and meeting them with a complete range of products, services and information. The ability to create quality depends on the excellence of the MEC3 management system that depends on the skill of everyone who works here, the company values that bind us together and on our finely tuned operating procedures.
Every day in this office we monitor our food safety and quality progress to ensure that we are always on the frontline of innovation and ready to seize any opportunity for improvement.
The limitless attention to the production process has always been MEC3’s obsession.
After the ISO 9001 certification issued by the German body TÜV in 1997 (we were the first company in the sector to obtain it), we continue our daily pursuit of cutting edge solutions
to constantly improve. This is why we have adopted the “Lean Production” approach, inspired by the Toyota Production System developed by the famous Japanese car manufacturer.
This system has a highly ambitious goal that involves eliminating waste of any kind and in any process, production or non. Naturally this makes life a little difficult, but it has allowed us to review our entire company process in terms of total quality and “just in time”. And this is just the beginning!

Anyone who knows us well knows we never cut corners. We create an endless amount of excellent ingredients for preparing gelato, pralines, gelato on sticks, desserts, cakes, organic and gluten-free products, etc. We know the requirements of gelato makers and we are always working to anticipate and fulfil them. We also put our energy into all those aspects that are not strictly linked to the production process.This is demonstrated by our extremely popular “Gelato School”, the trade shows we take part in, the gadgets and various material we create for gelato parlours and all the other special
initiatives that have made us the most creative company in the sector. We must not forget Mec3’s approach to creating employment. We have been nominated amongst Europe’s 500
Entrepreneurs for Growth, by the European non-profit association (sponsored, amongst others, by Microsoft) that nominates the 500 most dynamic European companies, which have excelled in terms of product innovation and promoting company growth (expressed in terms of increase in revenue and jobs).

This is why we always try and approach our work with fun and cheerfulness, allowing us to be inspired with the best ideas to present many new products to the market, which can win over the gelato lovers.
We have come up with all sorts of things: parties in g elato parlours, musical tours in sales points (www.ilovegelato.com), material and suggestions to boost our client’s sales,
sponsoring sports events, online recipes, the extremely popular Gelato TV...
We have worked a great deal up to now, but we have also had a lot of fun. We are sure that none of this would have been possible if all of us, colleagues and clients, weren’t made
