Gelato market, a star for the Confectionery firmament



The confectionery sector, confirmed, even in the difficult economic environment last year, their anti-cyclical skills. The confectionery trade balance has remained active, with about 1.223 billion euros (+4.5% compared to 2008). The confectionery sector has been confirmed, even in the difficult 2009, among the most export-oriented sectors of food abroad by allocating approximately 40% of production volumes, in value, the share was over 20%. In 2009, domestic consumption of confectionery products decreased by 0.5%. The per capita consumption reached 23.93 kg.
